It's PUPPY BOWL SUNDAY!

Source

Today is a very important day in the world of sports. For weeks (and as long as they've been alive) these puppies have been training, perfecting their "Baroo?" eyebrow tilts, their cocked-head adorableness, their clumsy trots across the floor, for the BIG GAME: The Puppy Bowl. The Puppy Bowl is one of my most anticipated annual television events, a program that keeps me glued to the TV, uttering a constant stream of indecipherable blubbering in a state of sheer paralyzation-by-preciousness.

I studied up on the starters weeks ago, and I have to say this is one of the cutest line ups I've seen. This year's Puppy Bowl is sure not to disappoint, but you better believe I'll be watching all the past Puppy Bowls Animal Planet will be re-airing throughout the day. And squealing like an idiot in the process.

I guess there's also this little game called the Super Bowl going on today too. I think they play it during halftime of the Puppy Bowl. Maybe I'll tune in, you know, just so I have something to discuss by the water cooler at work tomorrow.

Keeping in the spirit of heated competition, last night Eric and I went bowling with our friends Megan and Jared. Remember when I said I hoped to break 100? Well, it didn't happen. In either game. I came pretty close, though! But I think I was too mesmerized by the awesomeness of Megan's glow-in-the-dark rental shoes.

Even though I didn't bowl my best, I still had a lot of fun - I hadn't been bowling in about a year! After we finished, Eric and I went over to our favorite bar, Y Not III, for a beer. Naturally, since Eric has his own ball, he had to bring it with him. I'm sure we didn't look weird at all.
It was a fun night, for sure. But we were out pretty late last night, and I'm definitely feeling it this morning.

So what will I do with the rest of my day? Yoga is definitely in the cards - my body is crying for it after a tough cross-country ski workout yesterday. I'm also going to be making some delicious Puppy Bowl treats to eat during the game - because as everyone knows, you can't watch puppies frolic without snacking! The menu isn't 100% set yet, but cranberry meatballs will definitely be making an appearance, and hopefully I'll have plenty of recipes to share with you later - including one that involves the ultimate trifecta of tastiness: chocolate, peanut butter and pretzels. Yeah, I'm going there. Check back later to see the final results.

Oh, and here's one for the books: GO PACK GO! That is all I can bring to the table when it comes to today's game. It is probably the first time I've ever uttered that phrase.... but, when in Rome Wisconsin!

Will you be watching the Puppy Bowl today? Or, you know, that other big game that involves the pigskin? Who are you rooting for?
