Your Weekly Pins

Another Friday, another week of pins! Here's what caught my eye on Pinterest this week...

HOME DECOR
Pinned Image
[My eyes were on a path to true love when I saw this photo. First, I loved the sliding barn doors, then I swooned over that super rad rug, THEN I noticed the amazing antler chandelier hanging above! Love, love and love all three.]

[I love the easy-breezy, rustic feel of this room. Leather and wood meld perfectly with those pristine white walls, fireplace and ceiling. An unexpected twist? That's a disco ball hanging above it all! Not sure how I feel about that addition, but I bet it makes for pretty glistening light throughout the room!]

[I make no secrets about the fact that I love the mid-century modern look in home design. One look at this room and you're instantly taken back to the 1950s. I love the clean lines and soaring ceiling.]

Pinned Image
[I absolutely love when someone incorporates their personality into the home decor. This simply-messaged canvas is quirky, funny and I'm sure it brings a smile to anyone's face who walks into the room. Thumbs up for not taking home design so seriously!]

CRAFTS
Pinned Image
[While bunting always holds a space near and dear to my heart, I've been loving the look of these pom-pom garlands, too. They seem so simple to make, but add a fun, whimsical look around the house (or strung around a Christmas tree, perhaps?)]

[This craft, wrapping a brick in pretty fabric to make bookends, has probably been my most re-pinned pin on Pinterest (say "pin" again). And why wouldn't it be? It's easy as pie (mmm... pie) and functional, to boot (yay, boots!).]

[It's funny just how much interest a simple fabric flower can add to an outfit, purse or even a throw pillow. Here's a great tutorial on how to make one from an old t-shirt!]

[I'm not going to pretend I know how to crochet. I barely know how to tie my own shoes. But this gorgeous granny-square quilt is inspiration enough to at least get me to a store to buy some yarn and needles (and leave them in the craft closet for a few months...).]

I CAN HAZ STYLE?
Pinned Image
[I've got a confession to make: I think TOMS shoes are completely ugly. I hate that I don't like the look of the shoes, because I love the cause behind them. So imagine my elation when I learned TOMS has designed this much cuter line of ballet flats (available Spring 2012)! I can't wait to get my hands on a pair of these - there's never a case of buyer's remorse when you're buying fashion to contribute to charity.]

[Even though the choice to photograph herself in a mirror from an iPhone is questionable, I love this girl's outfit. It looks totally comfy but very classic. Actually, after peeking at her blog, it looks like this girl is always rocking an awesome outfit, like this one.]

Pinned Image
[I've really been loving the flannel-shirt trend going on this fall, but every time I try on one of these tops (trust me, there have been multiple attempts), all I see in the mirror is "frumpy lumberjack." Maybe I'm not someone who can pull off this look, but it sure looks good on plenty of other people!]

I WANT TO GO TO THERE
Pinned Image
[I don't think I've been more envious of a place in my life, but these mineral baths in Tuscany sure make me depressed as I stare out my window to chilly Wisconsin in late fall.]

FUNNEE
Pinned Image
[I'm pretty sure this is the greatest photo I've ever re-pinned on Pinterest. I can't stop looking at it. It's hypnotizing. If this doesn't get you into the holiday spirit, then you're simply hopeless, Mr. Scrooge.]

EDIT: OH GOOD GOD. After clicking the link to the actual photo, I have to retract my previous statement. While the above photo is absolutely fantastic, the second one is NOW the greatest photo I've ever pinned.

You're welcome.

There's way more where these came from! Follow me on Pinterest to see everything I love from around the web.

  1. I've never understood the Toms thing either, but i'm liking the look of those ballet flats. Also digging the brick bookend idea. My gosh, I love Pinterest. Oh, and Target has some really cute flannel shirts - just bought one this week. Cut to fit a girl, not a lumberjack. :)
